FG Announces 13th of October 2014 as New Resumption Date for Public and Private Schools

The Federal Government has announced October 13, 2014 as the new resumption date for all private and government owned primary and secondary schools in the country. The new date was announced shortly after a meeting with all the 36 states commissioners of Education in Abuja on Tuesday, 26^th of August 2014. The decision is to allow for some preventive measures to be instituted in the school communities before they are re-opened to the public. All private schools have been directed to suspend all summer programmes with immediate effect.
