1. Russia (52.8 percent of its population has tertiary education)
2. Canada (52.6 percent)
3. Japan (46.6 percent)
4. Israel (46.4 percent)
5. United States (43.1 percent)
6. Korea (41.7 percent)
7. Australia (41.3 percent)
8. United Kingdom (41 percent)
9. New Zealand (40.8 percent)
10. Ireland (39.7 percent)

The method used to rank the ten most educated countries in the world included a review of the 10 countries with the highest proportions of residents, aged 25 to 75, with a tertiary education in 2012. According to yahoo news, the data was part of the OECD’s 2014 Education at a Glance report. Of the countries considered for the top 10 were 34 OECD member countries as well as ten non-OECD nations.
